My Delhi trip

This is my series of blogs on my recent DELHI trip with the details on SITE SEEING LOCATIONS. End lo asalu DELHI ela tiragalo detail map istanu…which should help first timers going to DELHI

Though the series is in the order of my journey I would like to appreciate two special things first…

TAJ MAHAL : No introduction on this…I explain on TAJ…I can say only about my wishes…This was my life time wish “To visit TAJ with my wife once in a life time…this wish grew bigger and bigger after I fell in love with JYOTHI” “I wished at least once I should spend some time with my beloved in the TEMPLE OF LOVE”

INDIA GATE : One of my finest moments of life to stand there...I always had a zeal to join army but my "good" height was a problem, so i always feel proud when I see some thing related to Patriotic.

Inataku mundu nenu first time Mumbai vellinappudu naaku INDRA lo chiranjeevi feel ayinattu feel ayyannu…Bombay ante chinappati nunchi oka craze naaku…anduvalla….anthaga kakapoyina AP express lo DELHI lo digina ventane naaku kaligina feeling…Mottaniki RAJADHANI lo mana PADAM mopamu… Koddiga late ga vachina Southern travels vadu bane receive chesukunadu…

If you ever visit DELHI, Don’t miss to visit Cannaught place (again only if you know to bargain well)

Red Fort
One of DELHI's most famous historical monuments Built by Shah Jahan, the 5th in the line of Mughals Red fort or "Lal Qila" is made in red sandstone completely. RED FORT lo light and sound show mana GOLCONDA antha baaga anipinchaledu…kaaranam may be lack of AMITABH voice anipinchindi…kanee daani HISTORY adbutham…NADIR SHAH mana KOHINOOR DIAMOND ni PEACOCK THROWN ni yettukonni vellipoyadu anappudu manasu keliki nattu ayindi…em chestam. “Ye charita chusina emundi garva kaaranam” anattu...konni konni anthe...

Light and sound show begins at 7 PM but u need to reach there by 6.30 PM so that you need not hurry in the line.

I recommend seeing only “SOUND AND LIGHT” show if you have a plan to visit Jaipur and Agra as you will visit Amber fort, Fathepur Sikri and Agra Fort. All the forts and most of the history is same but here you get to know history thru the show. However do visit once to see where our PM do hoist our flag on INDEPENDENCE DAY & REPUBLIC DAY.

National Museum
One of the finest museums in the world, the National Museum is a treasure house of a wide range of exhibits from over 5000 years of Indian culture, including exquisite Mughal miniature paintings and artifacts from the ancient Indus Valley Civilization dating back to 2000 BC.
This is good to visit but I do recommend visiting this only if you are interested in History. Naa varaku I am not interested but had to see as my wife was interested… (oka Bharya chatu bhartha gaa naaku tappadu kada)

Rail museum
This truly is one-of-its-kind museum in Asia and has an interesting collection of history, heritage, romance, nostalgia, fun, leisure and entertainment, all at one place. It comprises an indoor gallary devoted to the display of various exhibits, models, records, photographs, coat of arms; documents etc. over 100 real size exhibits display the glory of the bygone era. It contains the various coaches dismantled from Fairy Queen, Patiala State Monorail Trainway, Fire Engine, Steam Engine, Darjeeling Hill Railway, Nilgiri Mountain Railways, Kalka Shimla Railways, Matheran Lignt Tramway. This one is worth watching
Don’t miss this.

Teen Murti Bhavan

Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru batikinappudu unna house Idi…Deentlo ayana jevitha visheshalu… ayana upayoginchina vastuvullu, ayanaku vividha desala nunchi vachina bahumatulu, ganapikalu, ayina letters mukhyam ga letters between NEHRU & INDIRA chala bagunayyi… Memu vellinappudu Bhagat sigh meeda edo exhibition jarigindi… so akkada Bhagat sigh and ayana friends meeda manchi articles exhibit chesaru…Good for us… Can pay a round to this….however this is very near to parliament and president palace. **********************************************************************

Indira Gandhi illu idi…ippudu deeni meuseum laa teerchi INDIA, RAJIV la jeevitha visheshalu pettaru…Ikkada Indira Rajiv lu upayoginchina vastuvullu, valla ku vachina bahumatulu, ganapikalu…chanipoyetappudu vallu vesukunna battalu…(Indira Gandhi saree ki bullet marks kanipistayi…Rajiv Gandhi vesukunna Lalchi chuste nijanaga badha vestundi even if you are pro congress). You can also see the way Indira Gandhi was walking in her last moments and the place where she was shot. If you are interested in Indira and Rajiv make visit to this…. However as I saild most of these places like India Gate, Rashtrapati Bhawan, Shanti Path (All Embassies), Rajpath, Indira Gandhi Memorial, Teen Murti Bhavan (Nehru Museum), All MP’s house, PM house, BJP office, Sonia Gandhi house are all nearer. Mottam meeda tirigina 4 Km’s avvaddu…and one good thing is roads are clearer and look almost same…manam self ga teerigithe tappipovadam khayam…pedda roads…tight security… **********************************************************************

RAJ GHAT

1948 Jan 31st roju Gandhi garini tagala bettina place idi… An open platform etched with Mahatma Gandhi's last words "Hey Ram" (Oh God) is set in a garden with fountains and a variety of exotic trees. This is the place where the mortal remains of the Mahatma were consigned to the flames. It consists of a simple square black-marble platform that stands on the spot where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated. Do not miss to visit this place and pay your respects there. Nearby, there are cremation sites of Jawaharlal Nehru - the first Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi, Sanjay Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri. But one thing which I felt bad was Mrs Sonia Gandhi being the wife of Rajiv Gandhi and from who she earned this respect in our country her being foreigner, could not maintain that place properly. It was maintained so bad that I doubt if they clean that place at least once in a month. Edo year ki rendu sarlu family-family katta kattukoni vachi edustaru tappinchi…aa tarwatha vallu asalu deeni pattinchukoru ani ardham avutundi….And don’t ask me on Indira Gandhi Samadhi…Oka peddddddddddda Stone daani meeda pettaru…Aaa rayi ento dani katha ento cheppataniki akkada okkaru kuda leru. Visit them if you are interested. They are next to Raj Ghat and it will take hardly 10 mins to see them.

Akshardham Temple
One of the finest temples I have seen… this is undoubtedly a world of Indian culture ornate with 20, 000 statues, floral motifs, arches and exquisitely carved pillars. Main mandir lopala asalu aa sculpture work chudataniki rendu kallu chalavu…unfortunately ikkkada security tight ga undi…may be gandhinagar lo Akshardham Temple meeda jarigina terror activity valla kavochu…cameras, mobiles kadu kada kaneesam chinna bag kuda allow cheyyaru…only chinna purse anthe kanee its beautiful…

Actual ga idi temple kadu…Swami Narayan gari pedda idol daani mundu ayana sishyulu nalugu vaipula Radha-Krishna, Seetha-Ram, Lakshmi-Vishnu and Shivudu-Parvathi vigrahalu unnayi…ikkada exhibition show baguntundi anaru kanee maaku kudaraledu

Don’t miss this too.

Qutab Minar
Podugga gada karra laga 5 stores lo unde Qutab Minar ni 12th century by the first Muslim ruler of India Qutub-ud-din start chesi and 13th Iltutmish ani atani successor finish chesadu… idi mottam 5 stories structure. 1987 lo jarigina oka accident lo 61 mandi chinna pillalu lopala chanipoyaru kabatti lopalaiki vella nivvaru… but I believe its OK even if you don’t go inside… Idi duram nunchi chudatanike bavuntundi…
Don’t miss this too.
**********************************************************************
Chandni Chowk

The antiquity of the main market area of Chandni Chowk has rendered it a venerated place in the markets of DELHI. It is said that it was once lined with beautiful fountains. However, with time, it grew as crowded as it is today. Mana old city la untundi kanee akada dorike varities kanee aa price kanee ekkada dorakavu…em konaka poyina okka sari anna chudatiki vellandi…this is very nearer to RED FORT…konali anukunte kontha ekkuva cash pattukelladam manchidi(off course akkada chala ATM’s unnayi :) )
**********************************************************************
Jama Masjid
Chandni Chowk ki velle darilo opposite Red fort untundi idi…Another architectural wonder of Mughal India, Jama Masjid or the Jami Masjid was built by the Mughal Emperor, Shah Jahan, between 1644 and 1658. With a capacity of 25000, Jama Masjid is the largest and most unique in India offering birds' eye views over the walled city.

Lotus Temple
Bahai ane oka religion vallu 1986 lo kattina ee temple LOTUS shape lo untundi…actual ga idi temple kadu meditation center. Lopala church type lo benches vesi untayi…couple of people will be standing inside requesting you SILENTLY to BE SILENT. Valla patience ki mechu kovali… Visit this if you have some time.

Nenu chudaleka poyina places meekosam nenu sekarinchina infor prakaram:

Birla mandirNenu vellaledu kaani Connaught Place daggarlo Mandir Marg meeda Lakshmi Narayan the famous industrial house of India BIRLA’s family vallu kattiincharu. Lopala Lakshmi devi, Vinayakudi gudi unnayi…

Nenu bayata nunchi chusanu…mana(Hyderabad lodi) BIRLA mandir antha baaga ledu kaani DELHI vellina vallu tappakunda chudali ani annaru.

Humayun's Tomb
An elegant red sandstone and white marble precursor to its more famous cousin Taj Mahal, Humayun's Tomb was built by his first wife Haji Begum after his death from a fall in the stairs. The inner sanctum contains the crypts of the emperor and his wife, and has some really amazing acoustics.

Purana Quila
Built on the historic site of Indraprastha the capital of the Pandavas of the Mahabharata) Purana Quila or the "Old Fort" was the combined efforts of the Mughal Emperor Humayn and Sher Shah, who, for a short period, almost extinguished the hopes of a permanent Mughal Empire. Spread on a circuit of about a mile, the fort has three gates and its walls are surrounded by a mat fed by the river Yamuna. The octagonal red sandstone tower known as 'Sher Mandal' was used by Humayun as his library and observatory.

Jantar Mantar
First in the series of five observatories constructed in different parts of India by Sawai Jai Singh II, the great astronomer king of Jaipur (1699-1743), the Jantar Mantar is situated between Connaught Place and Rashtrapati Bhavan. Idi nenu Delhi lo chuadledu kanee Jaipur lo chusanu…time calculator time ni caluclae chesina teeruki nijanga hats off…Massive deep-red and white sloping stone structures loom over palm trees and tidy flowerbeds - the giant sundials cast shadows, which were formerly used to calculate time, solar and lunar calendars and astrological movements, all with a wonderful degree of precision.

Safdarjang's Tomb
Built in 1753 by Nawab Shauja-ud-Daula of Avadh to house the mortal remains of his father, Safdarjang, the Mughal viceroy of Avadh under Muhammad Shah (1719-48), the tomb is referred to as the "last flicker in the lamp of Mughal architecture." It is a testimony to depletion of the grandeur and grace of the Mughal architecture in its decadent years. One of the last in the tradition of Mughal garden tombs, the structure has a courtyard and a mosque.
